How We're Keeping Our Children and Preschool Safe

image343

Our number one priority

Before The Bell Preschool's first priority is to maintain a safe, healthy preschool environment for your children and our staff. I am very concerned and understand the seriousness of the state our country is in. I am committed to work with the community and families as we work through the pandemic together.

Preschool Operations

We will follow the guidance and directives from the state and local governments as well as local health departments and NC Division of Child Development as they make decisions daily. We will remain open for essential employees and now include general employees. You may call for our current hours of operation.

Some of our new policies and procedures

Drop-Off and Pick-up

Drop-Off and Pick-up

Drop-Off and Pick-up

All parents must text a staff member when they have arrived at the center. A staff member will go outside and escort your child into the classroom or escort them out for departure.

This must be done as quick as possible. Drop-off and Pick-up will taken place outside unless there is inclement weather, in that case one parent or family at a time will enter the foyer area to drop-off or pick-up children. Everyone is required to maintain six feet or more distance from each other at all times.

Temperature Check

Our new routines for drop-off and pick-up are to ensure everyone can stay safe as possible. At drop-off  time I will conduct a a quick health screening to ensure your child does not have a fever above 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or other flu-like symptoms.  If any fever, flu, or any noted symptoms are apparent your child cannot attend preschool.

Hand Sanitizer

We will diligently wash our hands and use hand sanitizer as necessary. The hand sanitizer is not accessible for children to use.

Anyone entering the preschool must sanitize their hands upon arrival.

We have a very rigorous cleaning schedule. All surfaces, furniture, walls, community learning materials, and  outdoor play equipment are sanitized throughout the day.  Any soft items such as, blankets or pillow cases will be washed   immediately after they are used by one child. No two children will share any toys or materials at a time. Two deep cleanings are done before noon, another at nap time, and two in the afternoon on top of the as needed cleaning.

Social Distancing In The Classroom

social distance Before The Bell Preschool

Our classroom has been remodeled to promote social distancing. We are fortunate to have a small group and are able to maintain a safe distance while the children can continue to be social.  The new daily schedule is designed so that children will rotate through stations, one or two at a time. Each station is sanitized before it can be used by a different child.

Face Mask

During drop-off and pick-up times parents are required to wear a face covering mask as well as maintain six feet or more distance between each other. Children are not required to wear a mask.

I will not wear a mask throughout the day unless I am working with another person, in that case we will all have a face mask covering on.
